Installation and interface
NetMeter takes a simplistic approach in its bandwidth metering method. The application allows you to monitor your online activity—which is measured in terms of traffic speed--seamlessly. Its installation process is simple and fast. More, it only takes a few clicks to complete.
Once installed, you only have to launch it, and you can test your internet speed and consumption right after. The app comes in a small square screen that appears on top of your other program windows. However, you can send it to your system tray and access it from there for less obstruction.
Its main page is minimalistic, containing a graph, which shows the on-going traffic in your network. From the graph, you can see your download speed, which appears in red. The upload speed, meanwhile, is displayed in green. You can also view the maximum connection speed that you are getting through the main window.

NetMeter automatically monitors your bandwidth usage. Upon launching, you will see the bars start appearing on your screen so you can see your speed and consumption easily. You can also read the data from the bottom of the screen if you want quicker monitoring. Moreover, by sending the app to your tray, you can access the data you need faster.
Another noteworthy feature of NetMeter is its Totals + Reports section. Here, you can view various reports based on the exact amount of data that was transferred in a daily, weekly, or monthly time frame. More, you can see your consumption since you downloaded the app.
The Totals function includes your upload and download, your speed, and your average speed. With this, you can observe how much data you use, the speed you are experiencing, and determine if there are ways inwhich you can power it up. You can then export these reports in CSV format for later use.
Simple yet of high value
If you want to know how fast your internet connection, NetMeter is a good utility app to use. The app is simple but of high value. You only have to run it, and it will monitor your bandwidth automatically. While it is helpful, it would be nice if it had some extra features. As it is, NetMeter can only monitor your internet speed and consumption. It has nothing else to offer aside from this one function.
